The Crackselves
Caz and Caz, mainly because it seemed like a good idea at the time. If you're familiar with the old Internet saying "I did it for the lulz", then you'll know exactly what I mean. Caz and Caz are two of the ongoing players in the sprawling Invasion of the Muns plot.
You know how some people write self-inserts? Well, Caz is pretty much exactly that, not as an insult but as a statement of fact. See, it all started out as an hilariously cracky bit of joint inspiration, and now suddenly she's been to Milliways and possessed DownSy and David and been frightened by Chainsaw and not turned into the Incredible Hulk.
...on second thought, don't ask. Just don't even ask.
Take one Crack!Caz and rewind her to her childhood. Throw in a handwavey magic of some kind that'll grant you a wish, absolutely anything you want, and have her wish for the very worst thing possible: a total disconnect, a wall to protect her from people, because she's learned that people hurt you but she's not yet old enough to know how to deal with that.
Then fast-forward her again, so that she's nineteen and vicious and bored. God help me. I'm finally writing a truly psychopathic character, and she's myself.
Karalen Hessens is what Caz might have been had she grown up in the bizarre third of a fantasy world known as Karock. She's done all right by herself by her country's standards: she's married to a guy who doesn't exactly want for money, and she's found her way to Milliways, which is always an experience and a half.
She's got a comparable personality to Crack!Caz's, just put through different filters: she's more archaic in her speech, for instance, and she's not had as much opportunity to realise quite how twisted she is. You can see the similarities, though.
