Virginia is a somewhat-spoiled Catholic-raised seventeen-year-old from the eighties who likes to think of herself as a rebel, and who has her life all planned out: it involves finding fame as an artist, travelling the world, marrying a handsome poetry-quoting Frenchman and having twins. (Abraham Gray, her current fling, will do for now, however.) What, the narration asks with highly self-conscious irony, could possibly go wrong?
Obviously fate could not allow her to carry on living in such romantically blissful ignorance, and so right before Shatter (yes, that damn thing again) got her, she found out that she was pregnant out of wedlock by Abe. Oops.
