(My original character. Pyth's awesome setting.)
Anne Bryce was, if not a perfectly ordinary little girl, then at least a more or less happy one. She suffered from short-term memory loss bad enough to make things like school and relationships difficult, but her family were supportive and she seemed to be getting through it okay until the day when she found a diary she didn't remember keeping hidden away in her room. Curious, she read it and added another long entry.
Stas Bryce was, if not a perfectly ordinary little girl, then at least a more or less happy one. She suffered from short-term memory loss bad enough to make things like school and relationships difficult, but her family were supportive and she seemed to be getting through it okay until the day when the diary she kept started writing back.
Now eighteen, Anne(Stas) has dropped out of school, she can't hold a job and she doesn't stand a chance in a lasting relationship. See, neither Anne nor Stas can remember what the other does whilst she's in control: they have to communicate through notes and dictaphone messages. Stas(Anne) lives with an understanding cousin, and Anne (don't tell Stas) talks to a string of understanding shrinks.
Then, one day, with Stas in charge, they drown.
Most stories would end there.
