The As-Yet-Nameless Future-Based Flooded 'Verse (floodverse)
...now has its very own brand spanking new wiki!
The basic premise here is that the world has more or less gone to shit. Atrociously, comic-bookishly exaggerated global warming has caused widespread flooding (hence the name), reducing a lot of the world to a glorified sea-bed, and causing a whole host of problems besides (including massive immigration and overcrowding, which has resulted in most all of the borders closing down, plus all of those wonderful diseases that happen when people are living in warm, close quarters with water, water everywhere and not a sanitary drop to drink).
This is a superhero 'verse, where folks with unusual powers are generally known as "posthumans", but where they're not being born so often any more. They're regarded with tension, too, so that mostly nowadays they choose to do their business under assumed codenames, even if not in an actual mask and spandex.
